I did a lot of research before purchasing this product. My husband is a car mechanic so he spends most of the day outside. He works in a shop, but the compartment door is ALWAYS open, so it gets very cold when working on cars. He says thumb warmers like the ones I bought are better because they keep him warm and also protect his wrists when working on cars. He could stay warm and not wear a heavy coat while he worked. In any case, you can not wear a thick winter coat when boarding an engine. But great product! SUPER SOFT INSIDE! I didn't dare put it in the dryer for fear it would shrink so I hung it to dry. Dries very quickly. Over night. It would be too small for a small one. A large one would fit, but he tucks it into his pants and it would be too bulky, with too much scraps of fabric. If he used it for skiing I would buy a big one. But the environment is perfect. The skin has not tightened. He was free enough to be comfortable.
