It looks like some of the electronic thermometers sold here need to be calibrated, but the DOQAUS packaging doesn't mention this and there doesn't seem to be a way to do this to set the thermometer. So I tested with ice water, food (I know the freezer/fridge temperature) and boiling water. The device appears to be accurate to within 1 degree, but you can test your device as best you can. When you open the probe, you quickly get an accurate room temperature reading. It requires quick readings and the design makes it easy to test different products. The display flips so you don't have to do yoga to check the temperature. The unit's design seems a bit flimsy so I don't think it will survive too many drops onto the kitchen floor, but mine still works after the first 5 foot drop. The magnet on the back is good enough, but it's too easy to accidentally strip it off of something like a fridge door.
