Review on ☕️ Le Creuset Deep Teal Enamel On Steel Whistling Tea Kettle, 1.7 qt. by David Hansen

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Rusty very good for kitchen and dining room

I used this kettle daily for about 2 years before it rusted, luckily it's covered by Le Creuset's 5 year kettle guarantee so I was concerned about this one problem to her. It has never been put in the dishwasher or misused so I was quite disappointed that the enamel must have just worn away with everyday use. I was willing to pay the price to have a durable product. My grandmother had Le Creuset products that she kept throughout her adult life so I was hoping for the same quality when I paid so much for a kettle. To me, this kettle doesn't have any exceptional features or aesthetics to justify its price for only 2 years of use. Admittedly I used to have a Le Creuset kettle which I put in the dishwasher and voided the warranty - I blamed myself for believing the product would hold up to such treatment and for not contacting the company. I was a lot more careful this time, so I was very disappointed when it happened. Some may wonder how I allowed it to get so bad. it seemed to happen suddenly, but I'm not sure how many times I checked for rust. The rust is clearly visible in these photos when fully dry and exposed to the sun at an angle and angle, but in direct light from above from the panel it is much more difficult to see the edges, you only see the center. In addition, the rust is less orange when it is wet in the morning and evening.
