POS don't waste your money

When we first bought it, it worked well for about five months. Suddenly it stopped reading or calibrating the pH. The display jumps from 0 to 14 and does not stabilize. My husband works as an industrial maintenance technician and does a lot with pH systems. He contacted General Tools & Instruments about this issue using the "Contact Us" link on their website. After a week they didn't reply to help with the problem. My husband decided to take matters into his own hands to see if he could solve the problem. He found that the probe's telescoping motion caused the wires at the probe's tip to bend and break. Unless you are able to solder very thin wire, only about 1/16 inch long, you cannot repair it. If the telescope function is not used and the probe is left extended, it will probably last a long time. or permanently removed. Even with that in mind I would not buy this unit again due to a lack of response from General Tool & Instruments New York, NY 10013.
