It got so bad as the day progressed that the rewind button was constantly bugging.
I've only had the remote control for a month. This morning it started shorting out and intermittently rewinding the show while I was standing on my coffee table. It got worse as the day went on to the point where the rewind button is constantly on and going through the options so I can't select a show to watch. All other buttons do not work.
