First a few notes on "too cheap" sharpening (my old one). I used to have a little portable round sharpener that was all batteries that I bought at the store for just a few dollars less than this and it sucked (there was that cheap little elementary school sharpener blade in the middle that kept getting stuck . annoying !) never seemed to perform well or took forever and was difficult to clean and assemble (last time I cleaned it I accidentally threw away a cheap blade with shavings which is a blessing in disguise was as it gave me reason to throw in the trash and buy this) I was happy to continue! This sharpener revolves around my old one, I sharpened 4 pencils insanely sharp in about 15 seconds. It has MUCH stronger and heavier (spiral) blades and is easier to clean. I also like a wall plug, USB or battery (I used a wall plug to get the most out of it and it didn't disappoint). I can't say anything about the durability after a few days, but the spiral blades seem to be very durable and should hold up well. Of course, the body is plastic (they are all made in China, for example), but the real reason you buy a sharpener is the quality of the blades. The screw blade is of great importance. And indeed, I ordered from Revain and they shipped it to me in about 3 days (to Hawaii including weekends).
