Review on Tomorrow's Kitchen Pineapple Corer, Slicer and Wedger: Perfect for Small, Medium and Large Pineapples! by Cheryl Griffin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product! in Kitchenware & Gadgets

I didn't know this product existed until I saw it in action with my own eyes. I was so impressed that I bought 5 - one for me and 4 for gifts; A gift came back to me because the person couldn't figure out how to use it. Give this product a chance! It takes some practice and muscle power, but it's way better than a knife! Only downside: there are no written instructions - only very small photos. It took me a little while to figure out that the 3 tubes are different sizes to make thin, medium or thick slices; seems like a waste of time as there is not much difference between the 3. Here's how it works: Cut off the top of the pineapple, then put a handle on one of the tubes and wrap the tube around the core from top to bottom - This takes some muscle strength. The skin stays intact and you have a permanent ring of fruit to pull out of the skin. If you need pieces, remove the handle from the tube, then put the green "piece cutter" on the tube and press on the bottom. It looks like an apple slicer but has no sharp edges. The core can remain in the tube; If so, just push it out with a knife or the handle of a wooden spoon. Tip: cut off the bottom of the pineapple as well and put it in a large bowl before removing the core; This allows you to save on the juice. We did this without cutting off the bottom but were afraid the bacteria from the outer shell would mix with the juice. Note: The first and only demo I saw was perfect! After the fruit was removed, the pineapple's skin and pit remained intact - the pit looked like a candle sitting in the shell - you could even use the shell for a pretty pineapple cocktail cup! Yet again. Give this product a try and you will love it!
