Review on Ozeri Fresko Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Mill: Premium Silver Grinder for Enhanced Seasoning by Aaron Cruz

I got this about a week ago so I gave myself a week to use it before writing this review. I have given up buying already ground salt and pepper so this is my first time using a coffee grinder except the waiter asked if I would like freshly ground pepper or salt. From the packaging, the salt and pepper mill and grinder are solid and the weight feels good. It comes with a color booklet with instructions on how to fill and use. I used branded sea salt (for the salt grinder) and whole black pepper. To separate the ends to be filled, you need to hold the metal end and pull the clear cylinder apart. At first I was scared because I was afraid I would break it. But after successfully separating the first end, I felt completely confident to separate the other end with no worries. Filling in each end can get a little messy. I just tossed in a few peppercorns and a handful of salt. Little cleaning. A nice feature is the removable end caps that cover each side. It stands on a table with or without end caps, but it's good to have closed ends when passing it around a counter or table. After removing the end caps and looking inside you will see a black plastic wing nut. The instructions state that adjusting it (clockwise or counterclockwise) changes the grind of the salt and pepper. I tweaked each to see the differences. I noticed a measurable difference in the grind of the peppers, but on the salt side, everything turned out to be the same fineness no matter how much I adjusted it. a lot of salt I actually added to my food. The resistance to using each side was only due to the size and amount of salt and pepper on each side. As the levels dropped, the resistance dropped, but the grind stayed the same. I didn't feel like I had to strain to turn either end when it was full or when each side was going down. The only reason I gave this item four stars was because the fineness of the salt didn't seem to change after adjusting the wing nut. Overall I would recommend it to friends and family.
