This is supposed to be a utility transfer pump - meaning it works to pump fluid from point A to point B. Despite having a large, powerful pumping motor, its usefulness is severely limited, no on/off button. That is, as soon as the thing is connected to the power source, the motor starts. . Now that's *necessarily* not a problem, aside from the fact that running the motor dry will cause it to stall. Therefore, you must be absolutely sure that the inlet hose is completely submerged in liquid (and not moving) while you connect it, and that you can only disconnect it after all the liquid has been pumped (and not later). For my purposes, this is a useless "community pump". But it's a great engine!
