Review on Klein Tools 11063W Heavy Duty Wire Stripper/Cutter: Automatic Tool for 8-20 AWG Solid & 10-22 AWG Stranded Electrical Wire by Jason Stokes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Uh, I like it.

I think it works fine. For example, I'm not going to write a long review praising the merits of this particular tool, so here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Well-fitted, hardened and sharpened cutting blades that can be easily replaced by the user - Comfortable grips - Enables the quick stripping of most wire sizes. Easily cuts most wire sizes. Basically, it looks high quality, works smoothly, inspires confidence in longevity. taller - doesn't handle thinner wire perfectly and sometimes it's impractical to choose the right cutter for the wire size - through-hole dies are pretty much useless when cutting long lengths of wire as you have to slide the full length of the wire. Path through the cutters to indicate where to make the cut. If someone is a pro and you really like the marking feature of this tool, I would probably remove the cutter entirely to save weight and bulk and just use a couple of good quality angle cutters for all cutting jobs. Tools today use multiple layers of thin steel cut into all complex shapes and then welded or riveted together in layers. It's not a bad way of making tools, but it's a cost saver and definitely doesn't look as good as a properly machined tool made from a single forging, casting, or even the best solid piece of material.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
