Quality Differential Cover

I bought this kit to replace a rusted and leaking cover on a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban K1500. The quality of the cover is excellent, it is covered with a thick black coating to prevent rust. I measured .104 inch cap thickness, which is about 12 gauge steel. The original GM cap is only .084 inches thick, or about 14 gauge. The supplied fiber gasket was oversized and sealed the lid tight and tight without the need for additional silicone sealant. I don't understand why the lid is zinc in the picture. The ATP website also shows the same picture. The zinc finish isn't even desirable as it needs to be painted to prevent rust so I'm glad it's covered and don't understand all the complaints (see Dorman 697-706 unfinished cap and their feedback on the need for paint) . They replace the cap due to rust like me. I would recommend replacing 10 cover screws at a time for about $0.80 each. Hillman is an ideal replacement for the M8-1.25 x 20mm, grade 10.9 shoulder screw found at Lowes or Ace hardware stores. Tighten the bolts in increments in a criss-cross pattern to a final torque of 30 lb-ft. for GM trucks. I would highly recommend this cover and have been impressed with every ATP product I have purchased over the years.
