Useless junk, difficult adjustments, waste of time and $$

I have been a cabinet maker and trim contractor for over 40 years. I build furniture, restore antique finishes and new finishes, and can fix almost anything made out of broken wood. To me, this pen is absolute rubbish. I've been using it for a week, I hate it with passion. Why? I will tell you. Pros: - cheap - that's a "cons" too Cons: - disgusting to adjust - difficult to make small movements when doing fine cutting and simple work like jamb extensions for new doors circa 1930's. At home. - The star nuts to hold the unit in place fail easily and do not tighten properly without screwing them in. - The plastic "fingers" are too stiff and heavy to adjust properly for thinner parts than actually using them - made worse after several 10 hour days of use to get this snowflake machine working . - The aluminum slot guides on the table saw will not move unless you fully loosen the star nuts and then the unit moves too far too fast. It just sucks. The bottom line is that this springboard is scrap for me. This pissed me off so much I melted it into a pile of plastic slag with my torch. I then ordered a Bow FP1 Pen Board which is the complete opposite of this POS. The Bow FP1 has flexible and interchangeable foam fingers and is easy to set up. This is also Fine Homebuilding's recommended feather board for a reason - it works well. Hope that helps!
