Tried making gluten-free waffles on my first try. The dough was runny and didn't rise. My second try was a different batter mix and they came out perfect. With this iron, the batter must rise or the waffles will not cook properly. Time is also important, you may need to experiment a bit. The booklet is only a guide. Waffle cooking doesn't turn off, so keep track of the time.
