Finally a placemat that's heavy enough to stay in place on my dining table. The material seems to be quite durable. It's not a thick pillow like my mom had on her desk in the 80's. Thank goodness, because the real tabletop is too thick and this makes it easy for drinks glasses to tip over. Since the protector comes folded in a zippered pouch, people will naturally get wrinkles. So follow the seller's care instructions and steam iron as they say. This will fix it immediately. Walked through two so-called table protectors from Walmart and they were awful. They slipped everywhere. So far I haven't encountered this problem. I have an everyday tablecloth over mine; and it also seems to stay better above the profile. I can't comment on the fit as it wasn't necessary. This is one of those cases where you get what you pay for.
