A quick comment or two. The drive itself is fine. Does what it should. However, the software that comes with the disc is a 30-day trial, and to be honest, it is. terrible. Installation is troublesome, greatly affected the performance of a good machine, and the sound did not work. Removing the software was just as painful. Installation/uninstallation took almost 40 minutes. Be warned. If your computer doesn't have a DVD codec, you need to buy one. HP does not provide drivers, does not provide drivers for download, and has very little help for this product on its website.
