My only regret is that I didn't purchase one of these a few years ago, what a time and frustration saver. I have found that the tool really needs to be used directly without a rubber hose extension as the hose acts as a cushion and relieves pressure. Be patient with stubborn blockages by tapping lightly with a hammer, depending on how tight the grease fitting is, the piston will eventually move when the zerk is loosened. I've used ATF, but any light oil will do. As stated in the manual, the tool also grips the Zerk fitting. To remove the tool collar from the Zerk, simply twist the threaded collar one to two turns to loosen the handle. The coupling is knurled and should only be tightened hand-tight. I love this tool! Working on old farm machinery saved lives.
