In a busy doctor's office like mine, it usually does a pretty good job, but often pulls the paper at a slight angle, resulting in crooked scans. And now that we've been using scanners for more than a few years, they sometimes scan licenses and insurance cards with lines or discoloration on the back when duplexing. At the moment our scanned images have a purple back side 🙄 We use an alcohol cleaning kit as stated which sometimes helps but does not always eliminate image defects. However, the speed is quite good and despite the glitches, it works. for a long time with a lot of use.
