Review on πŸ”§ DEWALT Mechanics Tools Kit and Socket Set, 204-Piece: The Ultimate MM/SAE Drive Solution (DWMT72165) by Broderick Shetler

Great sockets but take some big wrenches to complete the set

This is a very good starter kit for someone looking for a mechanic's tool kit. Nozzles are of high quality, socket wrenches are very handy. The set is incredibly heavy, and that's definitely not due to bloated plastic. There's a lot of steel here, and it seems to be the springy, hard, ductile steel you'd like to see in a set of sockets. I've done some tricky jobs with it with no problems. There are several design flaws in this toolbox. First, the torx drive and hexes (which are really cool and nice) are 3/8 inch. instead of a 1/4" socket, which I find silly. This makes the end of a rather small and flimsy tool too bulky, making it much less useful. Second, hex wrench sets fall out of the case too easily, so you always fool them, when you open or close the bodywork.Thirdly, wrenches only fit up to a 5/8 which is almost useless. Not totally useless but you really can't work a truck without a wrench on a 3/4 and 15/16.Admittedly this would Set with ten additional metric and SAE wrenches it could get even heavier and meaner, but maybe they could forego a few smaller sizes and add larger, more common wrenches (which is great) 15/16 There's an imbalance and you end up having to use a Bring lanyard along with this set to get any job done Finally the markings are not as deep per etched and easy to read as I would like they are quite ch good for laser engraving, but crazy stamped ones are easier to read, so it seems bittersweet to me. I'm very happy with it and my complaints are pretty trivial. If you want the good combination wrenches that come with this set, Tektons are the best wrenches I've had.
