Much easier than splicing

Surprisingly simple! Remove the 2 screws in the left rear light, disconnect the wire connector, insert a new connector and reconnect it. Lower the wire through the bottom of the cavity and voila! Spent more time tying the hitch cross member than removing/installing the tail light. Some rent haul companies are willing to charge $50 for setup. The total time can be 20 minutes
