These things work like a dream! I recently bought a used Jeep Liberty with useless hood struts and had to use a broom to get the hood up. Every time I dared poke under the hood I was afraid it would fall off and my head would roll! After installing these shocks, I smile every time I open the hood. Such a relief! Pros: Opening the hood is effortless. Release the grate latch and it slides up! Closing is easy too. Cons: I have not found. It is important to note that these are hood dampers. I've seen some negative reviews from people who have them installed on their rear glass liftgate. They do NOT use the same shock absorbers! The rear window is much, much lighter than the hood and opens with much less effort. Putting hood shocks on the rear window is like putting jet fuel in a Pinto! Please read them carefully to ensure you get the right support.
