These 12.7mm X 3.5mm solid silicone bumpers/feet are the real deal in terms of adhesion, quality of materials, and careful packaging. My use was very specific. I needed an EXACT replacement for a missing rubber foot on my wife's 30+ year-old Pfaff sewing machine. Careful measurement revealed the exact dimensions and profile required. After investigating over a dozen different sources and reading literally, more than a hundred reviews, I finally settled on this product and vendor. I am not disappointed!Other material possibilities ran the gamut from vinyl, to urethane, to silicone, to "rubber" (of unknown origin) and, onto plastics of dubious pedigree and worse performance. The adhesive abilities ran from marginal, to temporary and even to, non-existent! Granted, I was primarily looking at 1-star reviews but disregarding the commentaries by obvious morons, this is the place to discover avoidable problems.Buying 64 "rubber feet" to replace one missing foot seemed to be an obvious case of over-kill but, considering that I would use 4 of them, and that a "visit" to my local sewing machine shop (if it still exists) would be impossible with the COVID-19 quarantine in force, I figured it would be preferable to cruising several home improvement centers and standing in line to rummage through their stock of availabilities. These "Adhesive Rubber Silicone Bumpers" sold by Furnimate Furniture Pads, arrived within 48 hours and proved to be everything I expected. They are dense but resilient, and are obviously fresh stock. They are labeled as "electronic" grade and are precisely cut and mounted on a high quality paper backing that easily releases the smooth adhesive. As with any adhesive, surface preparation and "activation" is the key to success. My Pfaff sewing machine base is coated with an impervious, smooth finish (probably a high temperature baked enamel or powder coating). I removed the existing, "German rubber" feet (which, by the way, were still "rubbery" and well-adhered) and thoroughly cleaned the "sockets" which the new feet were destined to occupy, using "Q-Tips" and lacquer thinner. I prefer lacquer thinner to other solvents because it contains Methyl Ethyl ketone, acetone, several alcohols and who-knows-what-all. Yep, it really dissolves everything, wicking it into the cotton tip and drying almost immediately. A second swipe with solvent and a fresh swab ensures a residue free and "activated" surface. Being careful not to touch the adhesive surface (I carefully teased each foot off of its releasable backing sheet with a miniature ice-pick I have made from a repurposed screwdriver), the freshly released foot/bumper is placed into its final position and pressure applied. That's it! Does it stick? Oh, yes!The sewing machine is happy and more importantly, so is my wife. That makes me happy too. And all thanks to this fine product and the folks at Furnimate Furniture Pads. Oh, and those 60 spare feet/bumpers ? They're going into my parts storage inventory. Come to think of it, I've got a few projects that can use some low profile, sturdy feet.
