I bought two of these shocks to replace the stock shocks on my 2001 Ford Escape. Installation was easy after figuring out how to jack up the car without lifting the tires (lifting the center box frame piece). After that, raise the tires to relieve the existing damper, remove the bolts, replace the tire, tighten and lower again. I was happy with the quality of the shock, solid metal, very solid feel. Much better than the plastic housing on stock mufflers. I noticed a definite positive improvement in driving. Old dampers have 160,000 miles on them. In the near future I plan to replace the two front ones with Monroe.
