This solved the problem.

I have a problem with the fuel pump shutting off. Even the Ford dealer didn't know why the wrench icon appeared on the information display. The problem was that these universal code readers could read any code. It wasn't until I got FORScan for my laptop that works with the elm327 adapter that I found the stored code indicating that the fuel pump driver module had lost compatibility. I ordered this and it fixed the problem and the wrench icon was gone. The damn Ford service department didn't know what the wrench symbol meant!
