Seems to help. Accident and human survival reviews made me buy it. The thing is solid and a little heavier than a regular bike helmet, but I'm sure I'll be able to cope just fine in the event of an accident. It also comes with alternative padding on the inside, which is good if you need to make it a bit smaller/narrower (I didn't, but I appreciated it). Updated 05/29/2018. I had this helmet for a while but ended up riding my bike, hit the tram rails and completely fell off the bike. The bike is quite dented, there are a few bruises but my head clearly hit the ground and this guy kept my head safe and sound! Now I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. This thing is sturdy and will really save you from some pretty bad accidents. Would buy and probably buy again!
