I got this for several reasons: 1) I'm trying to turn it into a smart home (has this and an Ecobee thermostat, light is next on the list). 2) One of my roommates keeps losing keys, so keyless entry was an advantage. 3) We've done housework including installing central air conditioning and replacing windows so it's great for contractors to access the house. I managed that with keyboard input in addition to the numeric keypad in the event of a power failure. However, aside from testing the keys, we haven't used them and I installed them about six months ago. So far the batteries have not died and there have been no other electrical outages (knock on wood). I've read a few reviews saying the keyboard isn't responsive, but neither I nor my roommates had any problems with it, although it took me a few days to figure out what they mean by "back of the hand to be activated" the back" means the finger". We've been comfortable in less than a week, so I don't know what else to advise for people with problems. The nickel plating looks smooth and sleek. It's quite pretty and goes with many of the brushed nickel pieces that I have around the house.The only problem I had was connecting to Wi-Fi, but after plugging my Smart Things Hub closer to the lock I was able to connect it, no problem and it stayed connected , even after I put the hub back to its normal location.Worry about finding keys or stopping code entry.I can just unlock it from my car before I start packing my shopping bags. This lock was an investment due to the price but I would definitely say it's good. Note: I had a pretty smooth install, so I can't say if the support is good or not for those having issues. I hope everyone who buys this product will have as easy an install as I did.
