Review on Streamline Hinge Locating with Starrett 819: Automatic Adjustable Convenience by Carlos Macy

I want to install some piano hinges and their placement is critical. The screws MUST be centered in the hinge holes. Right out of the box, the punch failed to "shoot" reliably, and when it did, the punch marks were noticeably off-center. I am returning it for a new one in the hope that my hammer drill is defective. Stay with us. OK. A new device arrived, everything worked. But it did NOT center the screws as advertised. Something was close, something was far away, and it never worked stably. Let's go back to the old five-dollar "bang it with a hammer" tool. It also misses the middle every time, but hits it with 87% less investment.
