Review on 🐞 IAP Performance AC903900EC: Enhanced 60 Amp Alternator Kit for VW Beetle by Patrick Keita

Great price for a base kit and arrived quickly as expected. Looks good, everything fits well, good oil filler threads. Should have bought it long ago, charges the battery and handles day and night power needs better than the old generator. The amp meter is now smooth and stable. Some installation items for buyers to be aware of: 1- The oil filler hole on the new support leg is sloped downwards and this will cause the standard oil separator bleed nipple to collide with the heater pipe elbow (see image). 2- You will need a compatible alternator fuel pump (square) which I already had. 3- As I have done, there may be interference from the carburetor connection from the generator side. , on the side of the alternator, and insert the manifold into the carburetor bores so that it can rotate slightly away from the alternator (see fig.). ------- CHANGED to one star after 30 days of use, charging stopped. There is an issue with internal communications as it still loads for a moment but very irradially, not constantly at all. Look at all internal circuits. UPDATE 8/24/2018: Changed to 2 stars because the alternator is now working. This is after removing it from the car, disassembling it completely and finding a loose connection on a field wire connection to the rectifier board. Repaired and soldered all three connections and put them back in the car, a lot of extra work. But now it works fine. Poor factory assembly = 2 stars
