Review on 🏎️ Carbide Aluminum Applications by SPEED TIGER: Enhancing Productivity and Performance by Antoine Dean

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wow! They fit perfectly on my Alu BattleBot parts.

I needed to make some parts for the hub motor used in the BattleBot (see picture). The parts are for a small engine with fine parts, so I needed a small 1/8" end mill for my 1/4" CNC router (MillRight CarveKing). Aluminum Square End Mills) (Revain/Speed Tiger: reiterate, they're great). The picture shows two parts I made (five parts each), total processing time was 16 hours, all using the same router end. The last detail came out just as well as the first. I was on the limit when the tool protruded 20mm from the collet. I took it slow as this is the first time I've machined double-sided aluminum parts of this complexity. Speeds and feeds were: 800mm/min (feed rate), 400mm/min (2 degrees tilt), 20mm/min (plunging), all with a 0.5mm layer depth (this is a CNC machine for hobbyists) . As the Speed Tiger website shows, these 1/8" bits require high speed (29,000 rpm), which is great for CNC routers. I ran my router up to a maximum speed of 27,000 RPM. To get my 1/8" end mill working in my 1/4" mill chuck, I bought an "Amana Tool - RB-102 Precision Steel Mill, 1/4" Collet Reducer. 4 OD x 1/8 inch. To make this project a success, I also purchased an air compressor (Quipall 2-1-SIL-AL, 1hp, 2 gallon, hot dog oil-free air compressor) and a spray nozzle (Mist Coolant Spray System for Metal Cutting, Engraving , Coolant Sprayer, Air Supply Machine, CNC Lathe, Milling Machine - the picture says: Succkey "Fully Sealed Mist Sprayer" S/N: AE 2150343) This allowed me to apply a powerful jet of compressed air (no lubricant or liquid was used), to keep chips away and cool the aluminum. Both worked excellently. I am very pleased with these 1/8" Speed Tiger IAUE 3 Flute End Mills. For another project (larger aluminum). I have a SPEED TIGER IAE5 Carbide Square End Mill with ZrN Coating for Aluminum Bought.
