I was trying to find a good drill bit to drill holes in different types of glass I drill holes in plates to To make "flowers" for garden art. Plates (as well as saucers, bowls, vases, etc.) are purchased entirely from flea markets and thrift stores, so the composition and history of each plate is well known. Unknown. I've tried different brands of bits. Also when drilling panels underwater at low speed and using little force (as recommended) the bits wore out quickly (especially on the tip if they had points). Not this beat! I must have drilled at least 50 holes yesterday and the bit performed VERY well! I'm so excited to find something that works! The only difficulty I had was getting a few pesky cores out of the bit. from what I tried to use an awl to poke it out of the cutting end. I ended up bending one of the four front teeth. In disgust, I tapped it with a hard Teflon(?) hammer and it clicked into place. The bat worked great until the end of the day! I have ordered more Beats as backups. I know they don't last forever, but this one definitely beats everything else on the market!
