Nice bike rack, but... There are a few things you should know.

Well designed bike rack. I have one on the tailgate of a truck and have moved my old aluminum road bike many, many times. This bike fork uses two 5mm x 100mm inserts with a QR pivot and I've had no problems. I attached the bracket to the top of the truck's back door. I first marked the two outer mounting holes, then drilled and tapped 1/4" x 28 tpi threads, and then used two 1" - 1/4x28 hex head screws. But there are a few things you should be aware of. The black color is not anodized aluminium, but a varnish that will fade after a few weeks due to the weather. Mine has turned to its original aluminum color.2. When using a bike with a quick release skewer, you need to insert the skewer into the front wheel for temporary use or remove the skewer from the front wheel. They are inexpensive and I have one permanently installed with my bike rack.3. I recently bought a new high quality carbon bike that uses a 12mm x 100mm thru-bolt mounting system. The bike block inserts (two 12x100) should lie flat against the inner surface of the fork bracket, like the axle. The edge of the cycling shoe must not touch the surface of the fork, as this can wear the fork. After reading someone's report of a cycling shoe rubbing at the contact point on a carbon fork, I got concerned and checked mine thoroughly. My gap was very tight and would probably be fine, but as a precaution I sanded the ends of the bike about 1mm last. This did not affect the attachment to the fork as it is determined by the inserts. This modification added extra clearance between the bike shoe body and the fork edge as shown in the photos. Easy mod if you are good with power tools.4. I haven't encountered any other issues that others have reported, but since there are so many different sizes and shapes of bikes, my advice is: once you have the mounting system, carefully attach the appropriate inserts to the bike shoe and install the bike shoe onto the Fork of your bike and make sure everything is installed correctly, the body of the bracket should not touch the fork, nothing is loose, and no extra effort is required to install it. If not, send it back.
