I recently heard a strange noise from the air conditioning compressor and over the weekend on a working day I removed the fender under the engine to have a closer look. I noticed that the compressor was oily and wet. When I was in Houston with 100 highs in September, I was obviously concerned that my 11-year-old Denso finally needed a replacement. However, I have found that engine coolant has entered the compressor and this line is leaking coolant through the plastic section, especially when the engine is running. This hose was an exact replacement for the original in a pickup that lasted 11 years, hey I'll take half of this replacement. I would recommend that you get a quick disconnect tool and DO NOT buy an OEM heater hose puller. I didn't need it to remove the hose from my GMC. An OTC 6046 and Dorman 800-409 quick disconnect are also required to reconnect one of the hoses to the heater core in the firewall.
