Review on RKX Vacuum Reseal Rebuild 11667586424 by Boondo Viswanathan

I recently disassembled and rebuilt my 83,000 mile N18 vacuum pump using this kit. My pump looked very clean inside with only very slight traces of rotation of the vane and rotor. The plastic weather vane looked brand new. That's the part I've seen people struggle with. At least one example of a video broken into 3 parts on YouTube. Probably due to the engine overheating at some point IMO. What is nice is that the design of the pump absolutely does not bind and does not damage the valve train, in contrast to the N14 pump with its metal vane. The plastic parts will just fall off the rotor and you will definitely get noise and you will lose vacuum assist and thrust but that's about it. too thick to reattach the plastic fitting even if you tap it with a hammer and use fresh oil to lubricate. Everything else in the kit fits perfectly. Great kit if you have a vacuum pump oil leak and ideal for preventive maintenance when you want to inspect the inside of the vacuum pump, clean everything and reinstall. However, this will not fix anything if the plastic vane in your vacuum pump has failed. As far as I know, there is no substitute for this part; You only need to buy a new pump when it is completely out of service.
