Review on Pirelli Powergy 235/45 R18 98Y summer by Jnis Kalni ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The product is definitely not worth the nerves spent, it's better not to take it.

Why leave reviews if you used the rubber for 1-2 months? And then such a terrible product gets a good rating and someone will buy . Here is the real review for the whole season: It was used on the front axle of a powerful rear-wheel drive car. Purchased in the spring of 2022. Made in 2022. While there was a new one, it had acceptable characteristics of the longitudinal and transverse grip on a dry surface. On the wet immediately worked so-so. This manifests itself in the fact that if you overdo it a little with speed, they begin to break off sharply and catch the hook, with clicks. Hydroplaning on the new tire was ok, but after 30% wear, you can’t drive into deep puddles - the car simply stops listening to the steering wheel. This tire initially has a very shallow tread (apparently done for the sake of the environment). Now the wear is about 50% - I'm afraid to ride it in the rain. Worked well in the summer heat. Much worse than Toyo, Nitto, Nokian, Dunlop, Hankook, Maxxis, which I had to ride before, but enough. As soon as the temperature dropped below +15, the tire began to slip in the morning even on a dry surface. ABS works on quite harmless braking. It is oak, wears out quickly, does not have any interesting characteristics even when new. After the 1st season it becomes just dangerous. Not worth the money at all, I am extremely disappointed with the purchase. Buy better China. Triangle, Ovation, Aosen, all this will definitely be no worse than this Pirelli in terms of characteristics, and at a much cheaper price. Or for the price of this "masterpiece" buy a tire of a normal brand. This tire is only suitable for standing on it in traffic jams . I strongly do not recommend it for purchase.

Pros
  • Was purchased at a bargain price. Sturdy sidewall.
Cons
  • Terrible wet and dry performance in cool weather. Rapid wear. Average wet and dry performance in warm weather.
