Not *super* aggressive on wood, but works well!

This is a significant upgrade if you're going from a cheap multi-purpose file set, and it indeed does cut through pretty much everything. But if you're really into (or getting into) woodworking, I recommend getting a more aggressive (on wood) half-round rasp, such as what can be found in the Narex professional set. The Kutzall rasp will remove quite a bit of material, but it doesn't remove as much as a more traditional rasp (if good quality), and the Kutzall shavings are basically dust instead of the larger wood particles that a wood-working specific rasp will leave. The great benefit of this tool is its versatility, though: I can use it on basically anything, and for woodworking, it stands in as a fine cut rasp.

Pros
  • I love this rasp and have already ordered another one
Cons
  • May not be suitable for delicate materials such as balsa wood
