No tool is perfect for every job, but this one could come a lot closer. What you cannot see from the picture is how the end fittings are installed. The slot on the right is just what you need for the job. The one on the left is not slotted, but rather a flat cup. The low profile hose clamps it was designed for have a pair of eyelets on one end that fit into the slot and an eyelet on the other end that fit snugly into the cup. The tool is almost at the right angle to hit most spots. The problem is that if the ends of the yoke don't line up with the ends of the tool, you have to tilt the tool backwards to grab its fittings. This makes it impossible to access some terminals. The end pieces are secured with union nuts so that you cannot mix them up. If BOTH end pieces were cut through, this tool would be near perfect. It's still better than using pliers on most clamps I've used them on.
