Review on HATCHBOX TPU Filament for 3D Printers by Rovy Oppeneer

This is the worst thread I have ever used

This is the worst thread I have ever used. This is the only TPU that caused blockages and there have been a lot. I've probably been through 15kg+ of other TPU's including other hatch box colors but this particular red is awful. The first reel I bought had grossly misspecified sections on the spool that wouldn't even let it pass through the narrower Bowden tube I like to run after bends. At first I thought this was the cause of the clogging so I bought another roll which seemed to have better tolerances but it seemed to clog worse. I emailed the Hatchbox about the first reel with photos of me measuring grossly out of spec parts of the reel and got no response. I would also like to point out that my machine handles TPU very well and I would put my TPU fingerprints on it. against everyone, so it's definitely not user error or a machine problem. In the attached images you can see an example of a failed/jammed print (one of many) as well as an example of a successful print printed with black, white and blue TPU for hatches to show how the machine handles other hatch colors.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
