Neither my husband nor I could get it to work - following instructions. sent back. And have a Hamilton Beach Smooth Touch model 76606Z can opener. It trims off the top leaving a smooth edge. Opens all standard sized tins as well as tins with opening lids - cat food etc. You just put the tin on and press down - the motor is strong - it lasts forever. This is the best can opener I can think of, especially for opening lids! Very worth the price! Also, I have arthritis in my hands and it's easy for me to use it.
