If I could recommend a spinner to a friend, it would be this one. I'd also tell them that this is most likely a 'goal spinner', meaning there's a good chance they'll want to buy quality metal models in the future (but this is the MOST model to own anyway) . This spinner is a lot softer than my old Dynaflex spinner and obviously better balanced. I also like the fact that I can open it up and clean it myself if needed, and even buy replacement parts if needed (although there's a lifetime guarantee). I love having a spinner because it motivates me to break my own records and compete with friends and the world on the NSD Spinner Facebook page. One word of advice is that if you have girly hands (like me), maybe use weightlifting gloves or something if you plan on doing any hard rotations. Sometimes the pad of my hand gets a little damp when I walk without it. I suspect this is one of the reasons you might consider a version without the counter at the top (as it adds an extra overhang that can be a bit fiddly at times).
