I wear boots all day, literally every day. And yes, I even wore them to church. (it drives my wife crazy) I wear them 360 days a year (wife yells at me and forces me to wear sneakers on vacation) but I still take my boots just in case. So I want good, comfortable boots and these fit the bill perfectly. Where I work, we're on our feet all day, standing on concrete, doing mechanical work, earthworks and paving. So, like I said, I want comfort for my feet. They're lightweight so you can walk on them comfortably, yet strong enough to withstand the rigors of the job. I love the side zip which makes it quick and easy to get on and off. This is my third pair of BATES boots and I've never had any problems with zippers. If they wear out, you'll have to rework the strings a few times to keep them from dangling on your feet (unless you want them to be loose), but that's not a problem. You don't sweat in the heat and you don't freeze in the cold. They're just great all-around boots.
