for the price they are good. I've had 5 couples over the years and not much has changed on their side. For me, several pairs of Danner Tac/Side Zip boots have spoiled me because their comfort is so much better than these Bates despite being at least twice the price. I would buy another pair of Danners but their soles start to creak after about 6 months :(So I bought another pair of these original Bates on my foot.
