The cutting part broke the 1/4 inch shank. I only cut laminate for the Wilsonart countertop so there was no extreme wear. hence two stars. My guess is that it is defective and has nothing to do with the product. I've used other Bosch bits and my experience with them is that they don't stay sharp for very long.
