I bought to replace another type of spout that broke on the original 5 gallon can. It's already difficult to handle a full 5 gallon can of fuel, and using my thumb to control the flow makes it harder to fill up my Tacoma. If the spout was a few inches longer there might have been less spillage since the button portion of the spout wouldn't be too close to the bed of the truck. I also found out why my thumb hurt later in the day because it took time to dump 5 gallons of fuel when the button was pressed. The previous leakproof nozzle was a turn on push nozzle which made it easier to pour 5 gallons into my truck. Incidentally, the 5 gallons of fuel were originally purchased for hurricane preparation, not to fuel a truck. Therefore I would be sure that the product would be much easier to use to fuel a generator standing on the ground.
