It's hard to trust the best GPS units

I have to admit I'm used to Garmin's more expensive handhelds which cost a lot more so this isn't a fair comparison. However, I am disappointed. It's slow to start and lock up, and when walking, its highly variable pointer doesn't inspire confidence. I strapped it to my hunting backpack and use it as a plan B, but I've never been sure if it can get me home. It worked when I used it, but at times it could zigzag you in a general direction, and I soon learned to think "generally" of everything. It just confuses me that I'm walking in a straight line and suddenly it's 45 degrees from the previous display. It gets you there eventually, and it's pretty good for the price, but it doesn't quite measure up to a high-end handheld GPS.
