Review on ๐ŸŽฏ Precision Spool: Enhancing Dimensional Accuracy of Printer Filament for Additive Manufacturing by Rob Allen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very comfortable yarn for printing.

I selected this thread for an upcoming project that would require quite a bit of ABS. I didn't do any temperature calibration or anything like that for this particular filament, I just started printing with my default ABS settings. Width: 0.42 Perimeter: 4Top/Bottom: 5 Fill: 40% Fill Type: CubicPrint Speed: 100mm/s Traverse Speed: 120mm/ft: No Pull Out: Enabled I was very pleased with the results. The layer lines were very consistent and the initial layer laid down very smoothly. I print on glass with hairspray to ensure adhesion and use an apron to prime the nozzle. There were absolutely no problems with lifting or deformation. I printed it in a styrofoam sleeve to prevent draft problems. I was thrilled when I saw the finished print in person. I saw this on my webcam but it sometimes makes a bad print look good so I didn't get my hopes up. I have to say that this one seems a bit more consistent compared to the other brands I've used. It's not a big difference, but it's a difference. Also, it's about $5 cheaper than the materials I usually use. Love it. It doesn't shine like ABS after an acetone bath, so I wouldn't call it shiny. This is something between satin and semi-gloss. This makes prints look more professional and less true to the original. All in all I am very happy with this ABS and will be using some of these for various projects from now on. I love that I now have a slightly shiny option when my other thread would be too flat for what I want.
