PERFECT for making room for a Rubicon

Very surprised by this kit. I've installed/operated lifts on my jeeps for years and have always gone the long way, but this is for my 16 year old stepson WK 2005 so we decided on a more economical method to make room for a set of wheels and Rubicon tires to create (255 /70/17 mud terrain kilometers). Not only did this flatten the Grand the way I wanted it, but I actually got a little more lift than I expected (2.75 inches in the front and about 2 inches in the rear), and since the springs aren't new I think not that they will sit down. less down. Plenty of room to install a Rubicon with this lift. As far as the installation goes it wasn't bad at all but the instructions have an exploded view of the A pillars that need to be taken apart to install the lift and they are misleading requiring a lot of extra work on the first page, you make (once you see the mistake, you won't do the same on the other side, and the installation time will literally be cut in half). The problem is that you have to remove the front struts from the yoke yoke that attaches to the forearm and you don't. The lifter goes via the coil spring seat, meaning you can simply loosen the tie rod, caliper, anti-roll bar and upper ball joint, swing out the strut and adjust in that position. It is virtually impossible to detach the post from the triple clamp and also the triple clamp from the forearm. Also, the driver's side rear upper arm hits the gas tank skids, preventing the axle from dropping low enough to pull out the factory coil, let alone the spacer coil. The screw has to be removed, which isn't a big deal, but reinstalling it can be tricky. However, a good jack and using a ratchet strap to line up the bolt hole when you're done will solve the problem. Overall, I'm VERY happy with it and recommend no questions asked.

Pros
  • Makes installation easier
Cons
  • Good but not great
