I used to swim with my steel car keys but these days my car keys are electronic and I don't feel comfortable leaving my keys on the beach so I bought This. I've used it three times in the sea and still haven't had any leaks. Just in case, I put my phone, keys, etc. in a zippered pocket. Although I can't see myself in the ocean, I find it much easier to spot other ocean swimmers with buoys than those without buoys. The buoy is attached to a strap that you wear around your waist and can sometimes get in the way of your swim, especially if you are just swimming or slowing down, as it will nudge you and surprise you. I always wash it off after swimming to reduce wear and tear. I would recommend this not only to open water swimmers but also to those who prefer not to leave their stuff out in the open and on the shore.
