They use horizontal power supplies (since they aren't pictured anywhere and in case you're wondering). Let's get down to the actual rating: They're just not very good. I know they are cheap and thought they would be ok but no. There was one at the top and one at the bottom about 10 feet across 2 walls. It picks up a signal well (as far as I can tell) but the speed is about 1/4 of what it should be from a knot. Tried in several less favorable places, still without success. The structure they are in has no solid walls or even electricity running through the walls (they are just framed with drywall). If you were just using them to cover a large open area, would they work, I think? If you do, just buy a regular router at half the price of these. I should have known better, but at least now you can know better than me!
