Don't know if the quality has suffered but I last bought them in 2019 and haven't finished a 200 box yet. But these bags don't hold up very well. The plastic is thin and easy to puncture. It won't break or tear, but if you have food packaging with a square hard corner or a watermelon peel corner, etc., it will easily punch a hole in the bag. Every time I take it out of the trash I have to check the bag to make sure it doesn't have a hole and more than half the time so I have to fold the bag in half. I started cutting off the corners of some grocery wrappers and watermelon rinds to minimize the chance of a hole in the bag. I won't be buying them again if I frequently need to double-bag or tape the hole.
