Review on 🌬️ Mann Filter C 43 102 Air Filter - Optimal Air Filtration for Enhanced Performance by Kantrel Tunstill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quality is as good as OEM and my VW loves it!

Fits my 2012 2.5L Golf perfectly. While the car looks more cheerful and happy. I had to watch a youtube video on how to change the filter as I had no idea it would be hidden in the engine cover (what a weird place!). The first time I tried to remove the engine cover I cut my fingers pretty badly as the edges are rough (I bet they do it in ways people don't do themselves!). So this time I put on gloves (and smeared some grease on the engine cover bushings to make cover removal easier in the future). I'm very glad I only paid $11 for this filter as I'm sure the retailer is asking a ton more. The original factory filter and this new one say "Made in Mexico" and the quality looks the same, not to mention they are from the same brand. The only big difference is that the original has German car logos, but this one doesn't. At first I really considered buying a K&N filter because I've always been a K&N fan. I'm obsessed with the look, smell and design of K&N, not to mention this stylish, colorful decal to proudly decorate your window with (just kidding)! But after reading many reviews from VW owners on K&N I saw that some owners had problems with the check engine light after using it (possibly due to too much crap going through the filter as it has a has high flow rate). So I decided to keep things simple and stay stock, so instead of a $49 K&N I bought a Mann filter for my car. I'll update this if I run into any problems! So far, so good; It's a pain to set up for a first-time visitor like me, but I'd rather learn how to make things myself than pay a dealer!

Pros
  • Air filter
Cons
  • Hard to tell
