The biggest problem is that it can't write to recordable DVD media. The drive doesn't even recognize blank media. I've tried DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD+RW. It will be burned to CD. There are many other drives that burn both CDs and DVDs for the same price, so why bother? It also vibrates heavily and makes a very loud noise when reading discs. It reads, but much louder than any other external USB CD/DVD drive I've ever used. Despite the rubber performance, it vibrated so violently that it slowly slid across the tabletop as far as the USB cable would allow. When I unpacked it for the first time, the first impression was very good. He was of a certain weight, indicating he was well built (but not strong enough to be carried around).
